A tropical butterfly centre with a walk through enclosure featuring live butterflies from across the world as well as fish, birds and other animals in a tropical setting. The tropical Butterfly House takes one into a fantasyland – where beautiful butterflies from across the world fly freely in a spectacular display of colour. Also inside the Butterfly House is our Monkey House, as well as Green Iguana and Stick Insect Enclosures.

We have made a number of alterations to our walk-through butterfly house to make the facility wheelchair accessible. In the past only the lower sections of the butterfly house could accommodate visitors in wheelchairs but this has changed with the construction of a new bridge near the main waterfall. Paths have also been widened for this purpose. The new bridge takes visitors over the stream, which runs through the house, directly into the main flight path of the butterflies. It’s a great opportunity to stand next to the cascading waterfall in the midst of dancing butterflies.

Also visit the Painted Lady Coffee Bar which is an ideal venue for enjoying a cup of tea or coffee or an appetising lunch, the Blue Caterpillar Art Gallery and the Theme Store.

Butterflies for Africa is a great venue for your events from kids parties to baby showers to business meetings.
